Why Do A Race? Or, Is It Okay to Walk?

By May 29, 2019August 7th, 2019No Comments

I have met countless people who say “Oh, I’m not a runner, I’m a walker, I don’t do races” after I ask them if they’ve ever considered doing a race. My response to that is “why not?” The great thing is, you don’t have to be a runner to a race! In fact, walkers are having all the fun at the race! They get to spend time with friends, chatting and bonding along the way; having a good time!

Running OR walking in a race is fun! The race environment attracts happy people who enjoy the camaraderie of others, being outside, being active, socializing with like-minded people, getting medals, and “race swag!” In general, a very positive, fun environment! I think of a race like a mullet – business in the front and party in the back!  So try it, you might like it!
